James Bender, Law Clerk, is a second-year law student at Albany Law School. Prior to law school, James graduated from the College of Charleston with a B.A in International Studies.
James joined the Copps DiPaola Silverman, PLLC team in January of 2026, during his second year at Albany Law School and works closely with attorneys to support clients through complex and often emotionally challenging legal matters. He believes in the importance of clear communication, professionalism, and compassion. James works diligently to ensure that his clients are well-informed, supported, and respected throughout every step of the legal process.
At Copps DiPaola Silverman, PLLC, James assists in a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal maintenance, property division, and family offense and domestic violence proceedings. James approaches each matter with diligence and attention to detail, recognizing the significant personal impact these cases can have on clients and their families.
Prior to law school, James worked as a paralegal at a large law firm in Las Vegas, Nevada. James is a member of the Albany County Bar Association.
Outside of work, James enjoys playing basketball and spending time with his dog, Johan.
